CFS Shelter Services

The Womanhaven Shelters One and Two

Safety for the women, children and men who are victims of domestic violence is the most basic concern of our organization, and we have the Womanhaven Emergency shelters available for those women and children who need it(and we can place men in a men's shelter). Once in shelter a woman and her children are afforded a wide range of services, including counseling, advocacy, educational classes, court accompaniment, legal services, support groups, peer counseling, clothing and complete case management.

Transitional Shelters

The Center for Family Solutions opened six transitional shelters, the "T-Houses" in 1997, where women and their children who have been in the emergency shelter may live for up to two years while they complete an academic goal or work training program designed to help them become economically independent. In 2004 CFS was granted funds by the State of California to build seven additional units of T-Houses, which were completed in 2006.
